Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology | IME

Fraunhofer Society (FhG): The research organization FhG undertakes applied research that drives economic development and serves the wider benefit of society. IME: The institute's activities cover two main areas: Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology. The project will be handled in the division Applied Ecology. The overall aim of this division is to determine and assess the risk posed by synthetic chemicals and natural substances, and to develop appropriate strategies for the protection of humans and environment.. Comprehensive simulation experiments in laboratory wastewater treatment plants, in model dumping site and in soil (laboratory and field) are performed. To study the fate specific devices (e.g. single particle analyses, FFF) are established. Furthermore, first experiments regarding the effect of (nano-) pharmaceuticals in soil are performed.
